No matter whether you like hiking, off-roading, camping, or marshmallows then you need to get up here and visit these wonderful places! Come and stay awhile!
South-east Oklahoma offers several State Parks to visit and Indian museums and relics to explore around here. A great place to go see is the Choctaw Council House. Everyone will find something interesting and entertaining to do around SEOK. We have mountains to climb and lots and lots of lakes and rivers to go play in or fish or ski or whatever. There are miles and miles of trails to ride your ATVs and side-by-sides on. That’s on top of the seemingly endless hiking trails if you like to go travel by foot.
Rock crawlers come from all over the country to run their 4×4 rigs on the rocky mountainous terrain here. Black bass, crappie, walleye and catfish abound; fishermen love fishing Sardis Lake and Hugo Lake for the great fishing action found here. Trout fishing is great in all the local rivers too.
Drive or hike in the Winding Stair Mountain trails and stop at every overlook. Go fishing and kayaking in the Kiamichi, Little River or Mountain Fork River. Explore the legend around the Heavner Runestone. When you are finally done playing after a great day of fishing, hiking and off-roading, go sit by a campfire and enjoy some marshmallows at The Guest House on Flagpole Mountain!
